Antelope Point Marina, Lake Powell, Arizona
Antelope Point Marina and the rest of Lake Powell have dropped more than 150 feet in recent years. Houseboat rentals have been a major tourist draw since the lake first filled, with a unique industry growing up around destination boating throughout the 1980s and 1990s. Since 2000, as the lake level has dropped, and the contours of the shoreline have dramatically changed, some marinas have been forced to reduce services, or close altogether. The nearby Antelope Point boat ramp no longer reaches into the lake, but the floating marina simply falls over time, along with the surface of the water.
